And we start 2012 with a bang – or should I say a slam. Yesterday marked the latest release from Zedd, called “Slam the Door”. This kid just doesn’t stop! 2011 marked Zedd’s biggest year yet, releasing banger after banger, touring with the likes of Skrillex and Porter Robinson, and playing major festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. Top DJs such as Swedish House Mafia endorsed the 22-year-old, for his awesome remix of the trio’s song “Save the World” (which also happens to be one of Soup’s Top 10 from 2011).
“Slam the Door” might take a few listens to grow on you, but the drop is pretty insane and just like “Shave It” it will undoubtedly get the dance floors moving. This release comes on Skrillex’s OWSLA Records. Zedd remains on top of the electro-house world and although I’ve yet to see him live I am anxiously awaiting the chance to do so. Maybe he will treat us with a full-length release soon, but only time will tell. Happy New Year…and DONT SLAM THE FUCKING DOOR!
