In anticipation of what will be an epic weekend of music here in Chicago, I thought I’d offer up a few choice underground sounds for your listening pleasure. First up, we have another newly-released live recording from the Day Zero Party in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. With the first Day Zero release, we got a taste of what Subb-an did behind the decks on that day (see post), this week we have a quality mix from rising Venezuelan stars Fur Coat (Sergio Munoz aka Delete + Israel Sunshine). This mix is a sumptuous journey through sexy, teched-out deep house beats that builds wonderfully to the poignant Fur Coat- Greed Insanity, a tribute to the fateful event on the Mayan calendar that never quite came to pass, unless you count the crippling legislative gridlock in the USA and the release of Tyler Perry’s “Good Deeds” during 2012.
Check out our review of Fur Coat’s debut LP back in September here.

Next up we have a mix from another rising UK talent, Ashley Wild. Recently featured on Hot Waves, Nervous, and Mexa, Ashey Wild has already assembled an impressive resume for himself and is yet another example of the prime talent coming out of the UK these days, and as always. This mix knocks much harder than the Fur Coat set, especially when he drops Numbers & Rolling- Down Be Love (Original Mix) [Nin92wo Records] a catchy deep house cut with that chunky bass line that aficionados of the genre crave to no end. I can’t get enough of this track, buy it on Beatport.

Lastly, and for the main attraction, I’ve included the newly released Climbers & Blond:ish Single “Town Joker”; a fabulous collaboration between some current heavyweights in the game, and yet another superb release from Get Physical. In this package you’ll find the dark and funky original mix of this track, and a tasty and more euphoric remix from Philip Bader and Nicone. Enjoy.
