Funkin Matt is a DJ/Producer you may or may not have heard of. He hails from Oslo, Norway and at just 25 years of age, he’s already in a place I’d love to be myself – just doing the damn music thing 24/7. Fool’s Gold Records released his massive track “I Wish” four months ago and it saw massive support by guys like A-Trak. Over at his SoundCloud page he has a long list of original productions, remixes, and collaborations that are all on point. He even just did a Disco Nap remix (A-Trak & Oliver) that was released a couple weeks ago. Funkin Matt’s name is very appropriate, since he does a stellar job of bringing the funk while also reeling in some-harder hitting sounds.
Two things I want to call your attention to are “Sound of Funkin Matt #6”, which is the latest in his mix series, and his remix of Staygold & Style of Eye’s “Wallpaper”. Sound of Funkin Matt #6 is fucking ON POINT. It opens with the amazing “Mirror Maru” by Cashmere Cat (also from Norway) and then really picks up a notch with Funkin Matt’s own “Rasp” which is followed by his remix of “Cool Without You” originally by Tommie Sunshine. There is no tracklist posted, but I can assure you this hour of tunes will be one to put a smile on your face. Make sure you show this guy some love and if you like his remix of “Wallpaper” make sure to go and buy it!
