Well it’s finally NOT raining here in Boston but I figured I’d highlight a fresh take on Kaskade & Adam K‘s 2010 signature track “Raining”. A couple weeks ago I posted Kaskade’s live set from San Diego, featuring 100 minutes of his It’s You It’s Me Redux tour. That tour was a rare treat for fans of Kaskade’s earlier work, with Deep House and Lounge tracks occupying a majority of the setlists. One of the stand-out tracks from the San Diego set, in my opinion, was the Late Night Alumni Redux Mix of “Raining”. While the original is quite good the way it is, the Redux mix turns the anthem into a Deep House cut that’s both funky and sexy at the same time. For those of you who don’t know, the Late Night Alumni are a House group formed in the early 2000s with Kaskade, Finn Bjarnson, John Hancock, and vocalist Becky Jean Williams. Check out both tracks and see how they are both great in their own ways, but drastically different. The Redux mix was released last week for free on Kaskade’s SoundCloud page.
