The Richard Fraioli EXCLUSIVE Guest Mix

mmibtyFRAIOLIjune2013

Today I have a special treat in the form of an exclusive guest mix by DJ/producer Richard Fraioli. I’ve been excited for this one to get finished as the next feature in the MMIBTY guest mix series and boy it was worth the wait. While I was privileged enough to meet and chat with Fraioli last Summer in Boston, he has been surrounded by music for most of his life. Fraioli saw his mix show career begin in 2002 as a weekly resident on Energy’s 92.7 / 101.1, Arizona’s premier Dance Music Radio Station and he hasn’t missed a beat after 11 years (no pun intended). Other notable experiences include a seven-year Ultra Music Festival run, and production credits with dance music veteran Louie DeVito (remixing the track “Give Me Tonight 2010”).

I spoke with Richard after he sent over the mix and here’s what he had to say:

“This mix for MMIBTY represents my style of House Music I like to deliver to people across the globe, or as I like to put it, “That MOTHER F#%KING House Music”. Sexy grooves, emotional vocals, dirty basslines, and phat beats. One thing I am most thankful for in life is how my versatility and passion I have for music. Ever since I went to a DJ event with my father who has been a DJ for almost 40+ years now, I knew making people happy through music is exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

Today, I am privileged and grateful to say my living is Music. Waking up everyday anticipating new music, producing new tracks, and the next thing! A huge staple in my life has been being invited to play the world-renowned Ultra Music Festival for seven years in a row in Miami. Along with being able to warm up the decks for some of favorite DJs/producers who inspire me daily. I’ve been holding a 11+ year mixshow residency on Energy 98.1 St Louis (and world wide), and have been releasing originals and remixes on beatport and EDM outlets under Pacha Recordings & Peak Hour Music.

I currently hold weekly residencies throughout the Boston / New England area, and monthly residencies in Miami, New York, Arizona and more.

If there is one thing I’d like to make known to everyone, is being COMPLETELY THANKFUL for their support since I first pushed play. My way of getting to say that to everyone individually, is through my only love, music.”

Listening to Fraioli’s mix was a pleasure. Everything from the track selection to the mixing to the general flow of the hour-long set was exactly the reason I invited Richard to do this guest spot for us. The mix represents his versatility in Progressive, Tech and Electro and supports both his team and his favorite A-list DJs. We’re even treated to some Richard Fraioli originals, remixes, and mash-ups that fit perfectly into the set. I don’t know if I’ve heard a better opening track like “Nice & Close” by Trent Cantrelle, but as soon as you hear the bass pumping in that one you know the rest of the hour is going to be fun and smooth sailing.
