Midtempo space jams, the genre title given to LAZERDISK PARTY SEX‘s new remix to Keys N Krates‘ “Treat Me Right”. The duo from Burlington, VT, adorning some of the most notorious masks known to mankind, and with one of the more unique names on the scene are a multi faceted tag-team with relentless ambition; their new remix that we are featuring today is an example of the latter.
I have been a huge fan of both the artists mentioned in this post, so I am excited to see a lovely collaboration of bright ideas and creative minds coming together on a wonderful tune. The introduction to the song features a very traditional moombah rhythm but the song quickly rushes into a very dreamy, bouncy breakdown. I believe the genre classification of “midtempo space jams” is spot on, as I see more and more artists pushing into that 96-100 BPM threshold (hip-hop anyone?) its welcoming to see the LAZER DISK boys right on top of their game. This one is certainly a “head-nodder” and I really hope there is more of this to come cause I really dig it, and I know you will too.
