Eric Prydz‘s latest track “Layers” is out today on his label Pryda Recordings. Released under the Pryda alias, “Layers” is an upbeat Progressive House bomb that I’ve really enjoyed listening to on such recordings as Prydz’s Essential Mix from earlier this year (the first untitled track he played), as well as Epic Radio 003 (the opening track). I’ve also had the pleasure of seeing Prydz play “Layers” live and in a set where some of his stuff can be a little darker, that track really picked the crowd up and had everyone groovin’. Besides the funky bass line, I’m very partial to the “epic” vocal sample used here. Even more notable is the fact that BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong named Pryda’s “Layers” Essential New Tune for June 7th, which is always an honor for any producer to receive (you can follow the Essential New Tune SoundCloud account to keep tabs on the weekly track selection).
I’ve written a lot about Prydz over the past couple months so enough of the chatter – it’s time for you to crank this one. Enjoy!
