The UK is officially what Sweden was a few years ago. In my eyes and ears, at least. Names like Eats Everything, Mark Knight, John Digweed, Jamie Jones (aka 1/2 of Hot Natured), Disclosure, Rustie, Bondax and, yes, Snakehips are just a few that come to mind when I think of the powerful and influential musicians, both old and new, that have made such an impact on this side of the pond. Snakehips is relatively new to the scene but the quality of the few productions that the London-based duo has pumped out is unreal. Their music often crosses the sounds of old school R&B with the deeper and increasingly less elusive electronic sounds we’re starting to hear a lot of. “Make It” cropped up on their SoundCloud a couple weeks back, described as “a lil beat” they came up with while messing around in the studio, and unsurprisingly has already hit over 100k plays. Annie Mac tracked down the duo and got them to offer up the track as part of her FMM (Free Music Monday) series, making this amazing track one you can take to go.
