A pleasant surprise arose on Sunday when Michael Woods dropped his remix of the legendary track “U Don’t Know Me” by Armand Van Helden (also known as one half of Duck Sauce). Although the updated version is spelled with a Y-O-U, Van Helden originally produced the track back in 2006 – a time when I barely had any knowledge of House or Disco music. Personally I think Woods is underrated as a producer and DJ, but I think his 245,000 Facebook fans would disagree. This remix is completely on point and shows homage to the classic tune by keeping the original melody in tact but adds some heavy Michael Woods Big Room flavor. While I don’t consider the original track to be a “banger” I do consider Woods’ version to be and I hope I hear it plenty this Summer at shows and festivals alike.
