Marcus Schossow and Michael Calfan are two artists I’ve been very aware of but aren’t necessarily guys I’ve taken a lot of time to learn about. I realize Schossow, a Swedish DJ/Producer on multiple labels (Axtone, Size, Tone), has a huge following, and I always hear his tracks at festivals and on podcasts, but this is the first time I’m posting one of his tracks. Last week I posted Michael Calfan’s track “Lion (Feel the Love)“, produced in collaboration with Fedde Le Grand. Michael Calfan, the up-and-coming French producer/DJ, has a great progressive sound and I can say with honesty I like his remix of “Reverie” far more than “Lion (Feel the Love)”. Schossow’s original mix of “Reverie”, released exactly a month ago, is pretty hard-hitting and puts me at a late-night main stage set at some giant festival… probably where a Trance DJ is spinning a set or one of the guys from the Swedish House Mafia is throwing down. Michael Calfan keeps the structure of the song the same, but takes a slight edge off and adds his own flavor to the drop. Some of Michael Calfan’s work can be a little lighter and a little more easy listening, but on this remix he goes balls to the walls. Both tracks have huge sounds and absolutely have the words “main stage” written all over them, seeing support by artists like Axwell who played it as part of his Tomorrowland 2013 set.
