Hook N Sling

Hook N Sling has been making some big waves across the EDM front lately.  And contrary to popular belief, Hook N Sling is not 2 djs; Anthony Maniscalco is the man behind Hook N Sling, and he is starting to sling his way up the EDM ladder.  Last year he collaborated with Nervo on ‘Reason‘ which was a tremendous hit and one of my personal favorite tracks to listen to this summer. Recently in the last month he released his gigantic progressive-house remix of Atmosphere by Kaskade as well as his hit original mix ‘Magnet‘ which features Chris Willis on vocals.  Both of these tracks are currently in the progressive house top 100 on Beatport.com.

Two days ago Hook N Sling released his epic electro-house remix of Krewella’s ‘Live For The Night‘ on his Soundcloud page.  Under the genre description the track is listed as ‘bumpy house.’  As soon as I saw that I was intrigued, and I knew I had to give the remix a listen.  I gave it a listen and was totally hooked the first time I heard it.  The next thing I knew this remix was being played on repeat in my living room.  The build is one of the best ones I’ve heard in a while on a house track, and the bassline is so bouncy and catchy.  For me, Hook N Sling’s remix is more club and dancefloor than the Krewella original mix.  Don’t get me wrong; I think the original by Krewella is great, but Hook N Sling keeps you dancing throughout the entire track with its fantastic bassline and build-ups.  With Krewella becoming huge EDM superstars over the last year, we are definitely going to see many remixes of ‘Live For The Night.’  W&W and Deniz Koyu & Danny Avila have already remixed the track, and we will definitely see even more remixes.  However, it’ll be extremely hard to top Hook N Sling’s.  We’ll definitely be seeing more solid tracks from Hook N Sling in the future, but for now sit back, relax, and live for the night!
