It’s Monday, November 18th, 2013 and we finally get the privilege of obtaining Jamie Jones’s long-awaited Planets and Spaceship’s EP . For many of you, it is likely you’ll recognize a few of these tracks from Jamie’s sets this past summer. Planets, Spaceships was undoubtedly one of his secret weapons and if you are unfamiliar you will quickly realize that it deserves its place among your heavier peak time jams. It features the distorted vocal talents of Daniela Caldellas from quickly rising Brazillian duo Digitaria (look for an LP next year on Hot Creations). Like the other tracks on the EP, it showcases the dark and stripped-down production style that has become emblematic of Jamie Jones’ studio work and certainly on point with Tracks From The Crypt (2012) and Don’t You Remember The Future (2009). Aside from the anthemic Planets, Spaceships, the remainder of the EP is no less compelling with the minimal vibes of “Cookie Monster”, the heady synths of “Starp Trek”, and another certain floor killer in “Stick”. I also slipped in Jamie’s closing party set from his acclaimed Paradise residency at DC-10 Ibiza. Be sure to support Jamie and yet another superb release on the Hot Creations imprint. Enjoy.
