The Golden Pony first popped up on our radar with a blasting remix of the cult classic Forget About Dre, which they quickly followed up the appropriately titled single, Filthy Lover. The production duo from Brooklyn are quickly gaining our undivided attention as we turn toward summer, now it’s just a matter of getting them out of the Big Apple and onto the road headed to cities near you. As they continue to storm ahead, their most recent remix is of a personal favorite Drop The Game by Flume and Chet Faker. You can read their thoughts on the remix below…
“This remix is our first production to feature a live instrument (saxophone) doing a lead/solo part. We had been recording electric guitar and percussion for background rhythmic parts, but never a lead. We brought Brooklyn Saxophonist Aaron Burnett over to our studio to lay down some sax on one track, but ended up putting him on 3 more as we liked it so much! This kicked off a wave of us wanting to record live more instruments for our electronic productions. We have a trumpet player and vibraphone coming by in the two weeks!”
