If you’re into blurred genre lines then today’s feature will be right up your alley. Israeli producer Maor Levi and California-based producers Norin & Rad teamed up to release the Pixel Hearts EP, out today on Zerothree Music. Not coincidentally, I know about Maor Levi and Norin & Rad thanks to their exposure on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy podcasts. And I’m not just talking about one-hit-wonders – I’m talking about these guys being featured countless times. When I say Maor Levi and Norin & Rad blur genres, it’s because they’ve managed to intertwine Trance, Progressive House, slammin’ Electro-House and even some Bass Music into their productions. I love Norin & Rad because they have a unique and hard-hitting sound but they manage to keep elements of their songs uplifting – this is much the same with Maor Levi.
On the two-song Pixel Hearts EP Maor Levi flies solo for the title track “Pixel Hearts”, demonstrating his ability to bridge the main room sound with euphoric melodies and big beats. He then collaborates with Norin & Rad for “Good Life”, blending a lush vocal hook courtesy of Jack Miz with catchy riffs and tough grooves.Whether you’re into the more melodic side of Maor Levi and Norin & Rad’s work, or you prefer devastating Electro-House drops, this EP is going to get you amped up.
The release comes on Zerothree Music which is a brand new record label. Taken from the collective’s Facebook page:
