Most Disclosure fans probably know about Mary J. Blige’s remix of “F For You”, which contains verses by the queen of R&B (and even resulted in her getting on stage with the duo during festivals like Ultra and Coachella). While not quite a remix in structure or overall sound, Mary J. Blige has a powerful voice and it mixes flawlessly with Disclosure’s Garage style. While I actually consider myself a fan of Mary J. Blige (how could you not be with talent like that?), I’m generally unaware of her album releases. Upon Shazamming a track today, I learned Mary J. Blige had Disclosure produce a couple of the songs off her latest album The London Sessions (November 2014, Capitol Records). The two tracks are the club-ready “Follow” and the more bedroom-friendly “Right Now”. While I’m probably more partial to “Follow”, both songs contain Mary’s amazing vocals with Disclosure’s classic sound. A bonus I discovered was the Shadow Child remix of “Right Now” that throws more of that UK House sound into the mix.
I know we’re talking older tracks here but in case you missed them you must listen now. And while you’re at it grab Mary J. Blige’s entire album The London Sessions.
