We’ve written at length about Anjunadeep over the past few years. The imprint, started in 2005 as a spinoff from the Trance and Progressive tastemaking label Anjunabeats, has released seven editions of its compilation series (the most-recent being 07, which we posted about HERE), seen hundreds of releases, and has provided a platform for many rising artists to jump off from. The Anjunadeep label has steadily grown over the years to the point that its songs have been making their way into Group Therapy podcasts, the weekly Trance and Progressive radio show that Anjunabeats’ founders Above & Beyond started years back. But you probably knew all this stuff.
What you may not have known is that Anjunadeep is about to embark on its largest tour to date, a 12-stop run that spans from San Francisco to New York in less than a month. Now coming off three consecutive iTunes Dance #1 compilations with Anjunadeep 07, the label has announced the artist lineup for its biggest ever tour, returning to North America after a supremely memorable first go around this past winter. The tour will showcase established label legends, Jody Wisternoff and Cubicolor, and exciting new talent in young star, Yotto.
It’s no surprise that San Francisco will be treated to two nights of Anjunadeep goodness, kicking off the tour tomorrow night and Wednesday night at the fantastic Audio Discotech. It’s no surprise we get back to back shows because this past winter the San Francisco stop sold out lightning fast. Wednesday’s stop is already sold out and I wouldn’t be surprised if tickets become scarce as tomorrow evening approaches. San Francisco has a love for dance music, especially deeper/underground House Music, that I’ve seen in few other cities. With the quality of music that comes out on Anjunadeep, even a school night won’t stop the Bay Area’s residents from going out and dancing to the soulful sounds of Jody, Cubicolor, and Yotto.
We’re being told that most cities are close to selling out, as all three artists will be present on every date of the tour, so make sure you pick up tickets before it’s too late!
