How does the Do-laB do what they do, and on top of that how do they do it all so damn good one may wonder? Well after experiencing Dirtybird Campout first hand last year, which Do-LaB helped coordinate, it was pretty clear to the team over here at MMIBTY that these guys are doing everything right. Honestly I haven’t heard much about Coachella this year other then Kendrick tearing the roof off the place. However with that said the only other real news that came out of California’s largest music festival for me was Sonny’s surprise Do-LaB set and then this amazing hour long DJ set from our favorite Aussies, Rufus Du Soul. I have been to numerous Rufus shows now, some live with the full band, and then hella DJ sets in Denver and beyond. With that said I have literally never been dissatisfied with any event involving Rufus, which is why I will be returning to Denver June 1st to see them set the stage for Chromeo at Funk on the Rocks! This mix is deep, which I have come to expect from Rufus, but the mixing in this one seemed much smoother, thought out, and more refined then previous DJ sets. The guys have become phenomenal at weaving in some of their more popular stuff with some truly bass shaking house tracks. Super fun listen from start to finish, big ups again to Do-LaB and Rufus, we cannot wait to hear that new music you claimed at the end of this set and to see you again at Red Rocks in June!!!
