Block & Crown are a group of two DJ’s from the Netherlands that recently decided to start playing under this name after years of solo successes. This is typical Dutch house, and I’m not talking the “dirty Dutch house” by the likes of Afrojack and Chuckie that has become so popular in the American EDM scene but the stuff that you would actually hear Dutch people listening to in a club. They’re different, trust me. Not to say that this song isn’t dirty. Dennis Ruyer, a long-time famous Dutch DJ and radio host debuted this song on his radio show Dance Department about 2 weeks ago and at first I wasn’t sure if it would be well received by our predominately American audience. However, the samples from Carl Orff’s masterpiece “O Fortuna” from the musical setting Carmina Burana give this song a righteously epic feel and Busta Rhymes adds his characteristic fast-paced lyrics to match the quick house beat perfectly. Let me know what you guys think… the song is slow to start but the more you listen to it, the more you’ll “get it.”
