What the HELL have I been doing since January 2010? I’ll tell you one thing I haven’t been doing and that’s listening to The Lazy Rich Show (also available on iTunes) which is a monthly 2-hour podcast brought to you by, you guessed it: Lazy Rich. Debuting back in 2010, the show sticks primarily to Electro-House, which at the end of the day might just be my favorite overall genre of EDM (or maybe just this week). Each month the song selection includes new tracks, LR’s top-10 most played, and a guest mix by other artists in the Electro-House game. Past guests include Darth & Vader, Porter Robinson, Zedd, and Mord Fustang. I’ve seen Lazy Rich live and he throws down – nothing but bangers. So when I heard his podcast for September 2011, I wasn’t surprised that I loved it.
Here are a few stand out tracks that will most definitely get your weekends started right. Some of the tracks I wanted to feature are unreleased, but I think you get the idea.
John Dahlback – Are You Nervous
Joe Garston – Reality Check
(the above track Lazy Rich describes as Garston’s “best Mord Fustang impression” – you’ll see why)
Chrizz Luvly – Keep Me
(this wasn’t actually on the podcast but it fits the criteria)
BONUS:
LAVO New York celebrated its 1st birthday last night with a set by Laidback Luke who is personally one of my favorite DJs to see live. Thanks to Betty Kang, who does PR for events such as Electric Zoo, I was sent his latest remix. I have never heard the original track but what he did to it surely rubbed me the right way – see for yourself.
