Well, this weekend my reason for being behind the ball is that I’ve been working like a dog for the past couple days. Not that you care, but I figured I had to give you an excuse. That and the fact that I went to back-to-back Hardwell and Figure shows at Beta on Thursday and Friday means I’m basically spent. Luckily for me, this weekend happens to be a long weekend for some so technically I’m still in a valid window. If you have the day off (unlike me). But here it goes.
This week, the major announcement for me was Pretty Lights announced the full details of his 2-day stint in Colorado for NYE Eve and NYE. For more details head to our Upcoming Shows page but what I can tell you is that I tried to buy tickets this morning in the presale and was about ten minutes too late. After putting a Friday ticket in my basket at 10:08, I realized I could get a two-day pass and by the time I had switched out the items in my cart, every single kind of ticket was sold out (around 10:10AM). As frightening as this is to me, everyone will have a second chance when the full event goes on sale Friday (10/14), although I’m not sure I should be telling you people…
Not a whole lot of amazing news for you from this week except Skrillex’s label made another major announcement about their next upcoming release (more on that next week) but first let me share Zedd’s newest track, also off of OWSLA, that came out this week. If you haven’t heard it by now, here it is – another electro house banger from one of the best doing it right now (who will also be joining Pretty Lights on NYE @ 1st Bank Center).

Benassi also came out with a new remix this week which takes Florence and The Machine’s indie feel and recognizable vocals and provides it with a pleasant house beat. One of those chilling songs that makes you smile.

New Feed Me! We always get excited for anything Feed Me here but this one I am especially proud of as I don’t think you’ll be able to find it anywhere other than here. Killer track with a sick hardcore sound. It’s a rip off Zane Lowe’s BBC radio show so you’ll have to hold on for the full thing.

Finally, and interestingly enough this one dropped today, Hardwell’s newest track “Cobra” is another massive from the guy who brought us “Zero 76” and “Beta”. After having the pleasure of seeing him Thursday, only appropriate that I get to share this one with you.

BONUS: One of our favorites here and a producer who is increasingly becoming an internet sensation, Viceroy released a remix this week that absolutely smashed the blogosphere (read: Hypem). Wiz Khalifa backed by some dope, laid-back Cali beats. Guy definitely deserves the attention although this certainly isn’t his best.

And one more thing… Funkagenda posted this hilarious parody clip of a radio promo for an Afrojack Greatest Hits CD on Twitter this week. Love Afrojack but pretty much sums up how I feel about him.
