What do you get when you combine Dirty Dutch DJ, Chuckie, with Miami’s hottest nightclub? Three and a half hours of pure musical gold.
Chuckie took to the decks at Miami’s LIV this past Saturday night to spin as part of his monthly residency there. If you’ve never been to LIV, it is one of the craziest clubs in South Beach and most recently it’s notable for hosting the Dallas Mavericks after they won the NBA Championship in Miami back in June 2011. I had the pleasure of blacking out there during my senior year Spring Break and I couldn’t tell you who was DJing that night, but they regularly host the world’s top DJs.
This set shows us what Chuckie is truly capable of, starting off with straight up underground House I had never heard before, transitioning into heavier Electro-House, mixed with some hip hop (Kanye and Jay-Z’s “Niggas in Paris”) and Top 40s. And something I love hearing EDM DJs do is actual scratching, like A-Trak and Laidback Luke tend to do in their sets – and something all other EDM DJs rarely do. This set speaks for itself and shows us all why Chuckie remains a high-demand DJ all over the world (and #32 on the DJ Mag Top 100).
