Today marks the release of the first collaboration between turntable extraordinaire A-Trak and Moombahton master Dillon Francis. Both as a blog and in my own personal opinion, these two guys are on top of their game and among my favorite dance music artists out there. I can only hope this is the first of many collaborations they put together, but for now I can see this one being on repeat for me. The track contains a funky House beat which is undoubtedly A-Trak’s contribution, while Dillon Francis’ recognizable synth leads play over the drums. And we hear the vocals of “Money Makin’, Money Takin'” on repeat throughout the duration of the song. The vocals were performed by Greg Nice, of the old rap duo Nice & Smooth.. I will say the lyrics remind me of the Beastie Boys’ “Super Disco Breakin”, and with the recent passing of MCA I’m looking at this track as a bit of a tribute.

Also today we have Afrojack’s live set from EDC New York, recorded this past Sunday. He released this for free download on his Facebook page and as we’ve seen over the past year, there’s good reason for it. Flawlessly mixed and containing that Afrojack Dutch sound, this set spans just under two hours and keeps you moving with crowd favorites and unreleased tracks (which is why you see so many “IDs” listed). Definitely check this one out and see why Afrojack has been ranked among the Top 10 DJs in the world.
