When I hear the name Breakbot, the corners of my mouth instantly and involuntarily climb upwards towards my ears. The French disco pop producer has made a big name for himself in circles that value feel-good summer disco and funk vibes but still hasn’t graced the ears of nearly enough music lovers. Nestled on Ed Banger Records alongside such other French cult favorites as Justice, SebastiAn and Cassius (not to mention the late DJ Mehdi), Breakbot has the support of a label that encourages independent thinking and integrity in music productions which have consistently broken out of the French music scene much to the pleasure of the worldwide audience and my ears especially. Breakbot is currently working on his debut album By Your Side, which is set to be released later this year. This track, which features Irfane from his classic “Baby I’m Yours”, is one of the leaks from the upcoming album and shows you that we all have a lot to look forward to. The Oliver remix adds a welcome dose of funk to the track.
