Friend of MMIBTY, Miami resident DJ (Mansion), producer, and college student Diego Camejo just released his debut EP called The Rise Remix EP and we are privileged enough to be able to share it with you. If you’re new to the show, we’ve featured Camejo’s work a few times – first with his remix of Komback’s “Impressions” and then with his awesome guest mix that he put together exclusively for MMIBTY. This EP, celebrated with a release party at one of Miami’s biggest clubs Mansion (see video below), features Diego remixing tracks by artists such as Daft Punk, Miike Snow, and Ellie Goulding. It also features an original track called “Megali”.
Diego has been involved with music his whole life but only within the past couple years has he delved into the realm of dance music. His sound and style, after listening to this EP and to his exclusive mix, shine through as Big Room and Progressive House, with sprinklings of Electro-House as well. The tracks are all very melodic and the production value is through the roof. I’m reminded of artists like Thomas Gold, Hardwell, and even Nicky Romero when I listen to this EP – and that’s a huge compliment as those guys are some of the biggest in the world right now. Initial stand-out tracks include the “Harder Better Faster Stronger” remix and “Megali”, although all of the music is highly recommended for your listening pleasure.
