A cold Winter evening in Boston set the stage for one of hell of a party as The Oxford Group hosted “Run The Trap, featuring the likes of DJ Carnage, Luminox, and Crnkn this past Thursday at Rumor Nightclub. Arriving in the midst of Crnkn’s opening set, the vibe and energy inside Rumor could be felt from wall to wall. As the distinct sound of TRAP filled the room through the massive sound system, people began funneling in and the liquor started flowing.
DJ Carnage was next up and immediately hopped on the mic to make sure everyone was ready to rage. This was followed by an hour of hard hitting TRAP that included Carnage’s signature sound through songs like “Cannonball (Carnage and Victor Niglio Festival Trap Remix), Bang, and his most known remix to date…..Hardwell – Spaceman (Carnage Festival Trap Remix). This being my first time seeing Carnage, highly impressed would be an understatement. His high octane performance exceeded expectations and was without doubt a highlight of the evening.
However, all great things come in three’s, and this night was no exception. Luminox made his may to the DJ booth to round out the night with an onslaught of original tracks tag teamed with numerous popular remixes that put the crowd in a frenzy. The biggest of the night being his remix of Bingo Players – Rattle. This remix instantly put Luminox on the map for many people and has gained him a large amount of popularity in the EDM community this year. As the clock struck 2am sharp, the music slowed to silence but the crowd continued to express there satisfaction with the evening until bouncers started kicking people out.
