I don’t know about you, but nothing is worse than a true “case of the Mondays”, which to me, happens pretty much without fail from the moment I wake up to the time I get home at the start of a new week (which is a new phenomenon for as a post-grad having been used to waking up every day around 10:30…those days have long since passed) I digress–
I think I have truly found the ultimate cure for the Monday Blues in the form of some seriously sexy work on Equal‘s track “Lost In The Evening” featuring Gary Jules (any cult classic movie fans may recall him from his cover of “Mad World” in Donnie Darko) by HeavyRoc affiliates Follow Me. The self proclaimed “extra-dimensional Shamans” of Follow Me have melded the already stellar track in its own right (reminiscent of Miike Snow) and and decidedly and ever-so-daringly walk the line between sensual deep house and funky nu-disco– blending the original into something much more, je ne sais quoi– dreamy, demure, and capable of making you slip into your not-so-innocent day dreams. Its the kind of track you can lay down, press play, and truly escape into its winding and swirling synths, hypnotic bassline, and, obviously, the sexiest lyrics you’ve heard in a minute.
