The Tour The World Heard Baauer’s Unreleased Music Via USBs

DJs have been getting creative lately when it comes to bringing a little spice to what goes on at their shows while on tour. Beyond getting to experience the music that we love in a live setting, I think it makes the show exceedingly better when there’s something unique about every show. Although it’s not a new thing, we have Steve Aoki who always randomly selects one lucky fan in every crowd and “cakes them” in the face with a delicious eyes, ears, and mouthful of it. Who wouldn’t want that?

More recently, Felix Cartal has started a genius idea of putting a disposable camera in the hands of one trusting fan at every stop of his tour. He allows them to snap photos of anything, anyone, and everything⎯which can probably get a little risqué, as you could imagine. Once the camera’s film has been completely used up, they give it back to him at the end of the night, he eventually puts the photos up on his Facebook, and we all get a good laugh. Each album never ceases to be full of outrageous phenomenons, yet every photo is beautiful in their own way, believe it or not. As cool as professional photos are, they’re no where near as cool as these. You can actually feel the magic and how fun the show was by seeing all of the wildness up close and personal. Naturally, every show is always different, consisting of a different crew of crazy party animals, so it’s definitely one of the most interesting tour projects I’ve heard of.

The most daring and unusual things always seem attract me the most, and I think Baauer has definitely got the right idea with his new tour idea. The dude has been on his grind making a ton of new music, a lot of which has not yet be released to the world yet. Lucky for those of us who are attending a stop on his new fall tour, we could be walking away with a little piece of Baauer gold. A message from him reads :

“Throughout the rest of my current tour I will be throwing out USB’s with unreleased original Baauer music on them for you to have. If you get one, share it with your friends, upload it to the Internet, or just keep it for yourself. Do with it as you please. ”

How awesome would it be to catch one of those USBs? It may be even better of a feeling than catching a ball at a World Series game (Go Sox). Sharing his music in such an unusual way as this gives his fans a lot of power, which is kind of invigorating. We get to decide whether to share it, or keep it for ourselves like a secret. As much as I love secrets, I’m assuming he is hoping that most of his lucky fans will share his music with the rest of us. I know I would!

Check out one of his unreleased tracks below called “XTC” and be sure to be on the look out for some others that will hopefully come out of the woodwork soon! Click here to find out more about Baauer’s current tour and to listen some of his other dope tracks.
