Last week saw the release of Mark Slee’s superb debut on equally wonderful Swiss imprint Cityfox; a label quickly gaining notoriety stateside for its great releases and visually stunning loft parties held in the NYC area. I actually covered one of their events held last year at a loft in SOHO and you can find the write-up here. Mark Slee is a Bay Area-based producer with a penchant for creating some pretty stirring deep techno sounds. I caught on to Mark Slee after hearing his b2b mix with fellow Bay Area inhabitant, Atish from the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man this past year. This latest release entitled “Teraxicum” is a great way to continue an increasingly strong tradition of good underground music from the Bay Area and from Cityfox. I like both the original and more melancholic Cesare Vs. Disorder/ Caulfield remix equally, in fact this past weekend I heard both mixed side by side right as Seth Troxler began as 6 hour sonic odyssey. Needless to say I was pretty excited about what I was hearing and felt that the tracks had to be shared with the masses, especially in light of their recent official release. Be sure to enjoy both of these delightfully weird tracks this weekend and don’t forget to “Light Up The Night”.
