Well this made my day. Remember a few weeks ago when I wrote about the Jack Ü album and how really fucking good it is? Remember how in that same post I mentioned the track “Beats Knockin” as one of my favorites from the LP? Just when I didn’t think “Beats Knockin” could get any better the homies Aylen & Zhomek unleashed their remix today for free download. Now this isn’t just any remix – as Aylen has certainly made a name for himself with heavy Trap remixes and originals. The first half of Aylen & Zhomek’s remix goes harder than the orignal track and it seems to be slightly sped up. I was banging this in my car, nodding my head to the beat, and as the second drop was building up I had no idea what was coming. When it finally dropped I burst out in laughter – in a good way. Everyone knows Quagmire from Family Guy and everyone knows his line “giggity goo”. Aylen and Zhomek managed to sample that line, speed it up, and repeat it over and over to match the beat. This was pure genius (as is the album art). Anytime you can combine a dance music banger with comedy you have my favor.
