If you’re ever looking for some sleek and sexy downtempo House then Portuguese producer/DJ Moullinex is your man. I’m not going to sit here and pigeon hole Luis Clara Gomes into one genre, as he prides himself on the ability to “crush boundaries between genres” (though I might most closely-relate him with Nu Disco). One thing I do know is that every time I forget to remember Moullinex, I find myself upset that it’s been so long between listens. I had the pleasure of seeing Moullinex at Boston’s intimate Good Life bar on a quiet weekday night and I danced the evening away to the soulful, funky, and mesmerizing beats.
Today Moullinex debuted one of the new remixes of his track “Take a Chance” by Satin Jackets. The press release reads:
“Elsewhere is his second album under the Moullinex moniker, and it’s out now on his own Discotexas label (co-founded with Xinobi) and !K7. The LP’s radiant stand-out single, ‘Take A Chance‘ previously debuted with The FADER, but has now received a heady remix courtesy of Satin Jackets, premiering this week via Majestic Casual. The ‘Take A Chance’ remixes are due out next week on June 29, 2015, and will also include a rework courtesy of Black Loops.”
I’ll admit Satin Jackets are relatively new to me but this track is mere perfection. Their remix of “Take a Chance” is dripping with sex and I will surely be spending time on their SoundCloud account tomorrow.
Moullinex writes of the Satin Jackets’ remix:
Take a Chance got a an amazing remix treatment from my friends Satin Jackets. Getting this beauty on my inbox when they finished the remix gave me goosebumps and a huge smile on my face immediately after.
Moullinex has also announced a U.S. tour this July, alongside Ben Browning of Cut Copy. The tour will include stops in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and more—the full set of dates is below.
