Riding into the weekend with a little funk? Don’t mind if I do, thanks to Australian up-and-comer Throttle. The youngster, real name Robbie Bergin (who resides in my favorite Australian city of Melbourne), has an absolute party starter on his hands with “Money Maker”, which dropped a week ago on the massive Spinnin’ Records. It’s easy to see why this track got me fired up and anytime you use a James Brown sample you’ve got a sure fire hit on your hands.
Oliver Heldens featured Throttle as his guest mixer this week on his radio show and the entire set was full of Disco and funk. Throttle is definitely someone you need on your watch list.
Oh – and if you care – Throttle’s song “Together” was featured on a Hilary Clinton ad campaign a few months ago. Wish it was Bernie though…
