San Francisco is unique for many reasons but one of them has to be the sheer amount of DJ talent residing here. Most of the friendships I’ve formed since moving here four and a half years ago have been through the music scene. And I’ve been fortunate enough to play some amazing parties and witness many more thrown by and featuring local artists from all around the Bay Area.
That theme continues this weekend when the Pizza & Techno crew brings their one-year anniversary party to Audio San Francisco. The event, in the form of a Saturday day party (perfect for SF’s millennial weekend warriors), will feature sounds by Late Eighties (Dirtybird, Admit One Records), Willaa (Pizza & Techno, Admit One Records), Michio (MPATH, Pizza & Techno) ft Jerome Joyce (Toblerome SF/Detroit), Reid Elliot (Pizza & Techno), and yours truly holding it down for MMIBTY and Build It Records under my alias Racket Club. Sure, this is a shameless self-promotion but we will have PIZZA AND AUDIO’S ROOF WILL BE OPEN! And the beats will be ready to make you move all day
What is Pizza and Techno?
They’ve been throwing renegade parties in SF for a year now — serving up fresh beats and free pizza and bringing tons of friends together at places like China Beach, Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park, and the Panhandle – not to mention parties at Dirtybird Campout, Lightning in a Bottle, and Deep Summit. Their gatherings have grown from dozens of friends to hundreds, so this year they’re closing out the party season with an epic bang at one of SF’s favorite venues, Audio!
Some things to expect:
- FREE ENTRY to the day party with RSVP before 2pm!
- FREE PIZZA for early arrivals (maybe we’ll order more later!)
- The highest quality in house, tech house, and general funky booty shaking four-on the floor make-your-butt-move-music
- All the friends
- A few surprises
- Drink specials before 2pm (Get in here early and knock down a few cheap drinks!)
