The highly anticipated debut album from Wolfgang Gartner dropped earlier this week on every major online retailer’s home page. The release culminates countless months of postponements and delays all broadcast over Wolfgang’s very own Twitter/Facebook feeds. And almost as if everyone was hypnotized, nobody ever complained. Instead he received constant support as he tore through four months of insane touring hitting up every city in the US and every festival from Vegas to Belgium. I’ve caught his act four times in what seems like a mere six months highlighted by his late night set in Vegas and his most recent show at Beta Nightclub. Although I must admit his Beta set was not his best , the experience however was top notch. From hanging out with aspiring dj’s and electro enthusiasts to talking to lovely ladies during the show the environment was great, all while being perhaps the most crowded I’ve ever been there.
But I digress…. Weekend in America was of course worth the wait as Wolfgang provides us with a masterpiece in electro house boasting godly technical skill last seen since well I guess last week (…Porter). With so many unreleased finalized versions being included in the album I can finally connect the songs with the sets I’ve seen which is making me appreciate the perfection in its’ entirety. Enough talk though, let’s get to the tracks shall we? I have showcased a few unreleased tracks (not Illmerica, Space Junk, and that one with Will.i.am.) that have been blasting through our house since Monday.
