I’m not really sure how The Knocks aren’t a bigger deal. I have been absolutely loving their music lately. The NYC-based duo makes feel-good dance music that could just as easily be considered sophisticated pop music, taking inspiration from disco and indie music and skillfully injecting just the right amount of bounce before gilding their tunes with warm guitars, filtered synth sounds, airy vocals and casual drums. Lately, they’ve been releasing a slew of remixes and originals, including their recent big collaboration with famed French house producer Fred Falke “Geronimo”, which you can listen to on our new Spotify playlist. Just yesterday, they released their newest original “The Feeling” which encapsulates everything about their fun sound, a perfect tune to blast as we wind down the summer (it sucks, I know, but someone had to point it out).
They’ve also been busy the past few weeks putting out several free remixes. I highly suggest you grab them. You might remember their remix of Santigold’s “The Keepers” we posted about a month ago… If you liked that one, you’ll be sure to love these.
