Nothing says Sunday Funday quite like two free downloads from two of our favorite artists. The first track is the latest from Luminox called “Tantrum”. I feel like it’s been a while since we received anything new from him, possibly since I posted his “Go Down Low” remix. “Tantrum”, however, has some serious bounce to it and amidst his crazy touring schedule it’s no surprise he went production-silent for a bit – but it was worth the wait!. Although the track sounds like it’s on overdrive as soon as it begins, my favorite part is the breakdown around 1:30, leading up to such a crazy drop at 2:00. Luminox truly is in a league of his own and I’m looking forward to continued fire from him. If you haven’t checked it out, read our interview with him.
The other track today is a mash-up of two of our favorite tracks from 2012: Tommy Trash & A-Trak’s “Tuna Melt” and Tommy Trash’s “Truffle Pig”. When I first saw this on my SoundCloud stream I had to look and listen a couple times to realize exactly what was going on. “Tuna Melt” and “Truffle Pig” have similar sounds so I had to carefully inspect the track to hear the new elements of this release. It appears as though the build-ups are from “Tuna Melt” while the drops are from “Truffle Pig”, explaining why this is named “Tuna Truffle (Tommy Trash Coachella Snack)”. Besides making me hungry, this free download was released to celebrate Tommy Trash’s 200,000 Facebook fans – quite the milestone. As always I’m excited to see what’s coming next for the Australian-turned-Brit!
