Eats Everything (Daniel Pearce) has quickly risen to the top of my list as a producer and DJ of some of the funkiest House music out there. Hailing from Bristol in the UK (seriously, is there a bad British producer out there?), Eats has defined a whole new genre of forward-thinking underground house music that draws elements from classic house, UK bass music, Detroit techno, jungle and early rave. I had the pleasure of seeing him spin the intimate setting of Cambridge, MA’s Phoenix Landing last month, where Eats Everything threw nothing but funky and sometimes soulful House music at us for two hours (listen to the recording of his set HERE). I’m also a huge fan of his newest track, produced in conjunction with the awesome Justin Martin, on “The Gettup“.
Defected is a record label out of the UK that boasts some serious talent, in artists like Dennis Ferrer, Bob Sinclair, Chocolate Puma, Yousef, and many more. Defected also hosts a free weekly party at Ibiza’s Ushuaia Tower which is a beach hotel on the party island and looks pretty incredible from the pictures I’ve seen. This past Monday Eats Everything played a set at Ushuaia that I couldn’t pass on sharing with you. The set is so good, so funky, yet remains totally different than what Eats played here in Boston. I respect him so much more for the fact that he can go to two completely different venues, lay down two amazing sets, and keep them entirely independent of each other.
So far no track list is available, nor a download link (unless you can get this site to work), but you can certainly stream the set here to your heart’s content. Enjoy!
