One of the songs that has been driving me bonkers as of late is Tommie Sunshine & Live City‘s remix of “Sierra Leone” by Mt Eden. Originally the track sneaked by me, as it was released at the end of April, but it was highlighted as part of the Chomstars’ EDC New York set a few weeks ago. Usually when I hear a mix or a live set there’s a standout track or handful of tracks and this “Sierra Leone” remix certainly falls into that category. What really drove the point home was hearing it played last night by Sound Remedy at the Benefit for Boston show. This track has such an awesome, driving bass line and it’s perfectly complimented with cowbells. Listen, any time you combine sweet bass lines and cowbells I’m going to be a fan. Shit, I don’t even need the bass line just give me some cowbells with 808s and I’ll be playing it on repeat. Tommie Sunshine has really been climbing to the top of my list lately and this is just another example of why. Crank it up this weekend, I know I will be.
