Betoko – Supersonic EP [OFF074]

I return to you by no means a changed man. If anything I am more of a sucker for the deep stuff and I come bearing such gifts for your tender eardrums. Our focus today is on Betoko, the alias of Mexican born and UK based producer Beto Cohen. His mercurial rise to underground stardom has seen his tracks championed in the mixes of M.A.N.D.Y, Gregor Tresher, Martinez, Steve Lawler, Dubfire, Sven Vath and Marco Carola. He has released tracks on some powerhouse imprints including but not limited to Diynamic, Get Physical, Hope Recordings, Exploited, and OFF. Needless to say, Betoko has built quite the resume. Today’s entry features his latest (10/29) EP release on OFF featuring remix work from the equally impressive Tube and Berger. This EP features two distinct moods that should suit a variety of occasions. Front and center on the original mix is the heavy robotic vocals married to an equally saucy deep bass line that is delightfully infectious and a certain dance floor killer. For the remix, fellow world-beaters Tube and Berger brought some melody into the equation while retaining some of the vocal sample and the result is no less impressive and catchy–but a bit more laid back.  I would highly recommend checking out some of his other releases in addition to his various remix work. In the mean time, clear out the furniture, draw the blinds, and please enjoy this mix that debuted today on Ibiza Global Radio.
