While I originally wanted this article to be titled “Five Thousand EDM Tracks that Make You Happy to Be Alive,” I still want to keep my day job. Alas here are our top 5 EDM tracks that’ll make you happy to be alive.
1. Syn Cole – Miami 82 (Vocal Edit)
It only takes 5 seconds of this track to put me on cloud 9. When I first heard the original track I thought it was pretty catchy but Madame Button’s lyrics really catapult this song into the stratosphere as far as lightening your mood. This song has been the first song I want to wake up to in the morning for more weeks than I’d like to admit, and that uplifting feeling continues on with our other tracks. For all things Syn Cole, check out his soundcloud here.
2. Klingade – Jubel (Nora En Pure Remix)
I only recently discovered this gem but it has been on repeat ever since. Between the absolutely beautiful piano chords, which can be learned on site like https://www.cyfairmusicandarts.com, vocals, subtle violin stabs in the background, and sexy saxophone solo, this track should be heard by all.
Even the name speaks to how this unique EDM track should make you feel. If you’re a sucker for piano chords layered over a groovy dance beat like me, then watch out for all things Nora En Pure.
3. Avicii – Dear Boy
Speaking of my love for piano dominated tracks, if I told you I had found the happiest piano of all time in an EDM song would you believe me? Well do. Avicii’s “Dear Boy” begins with calm, almost haunting vocals that slowly rise in intensity along with the background instrumentals to a crescendo, and then cue those piano chords that would slap a smile on the face of fans of almost any genre. Kudos to Avicii for stepping out of the usual house box and still making something truly moving.
4. Inpetto – No More Serious Faces
This track has been around for awhile now but the list wouldn’t be complete without it. Here is another slow builder that will end up leaving you jamming to its incredible synth-melody and smiling from ear to ear. Inpetto’s sound has just the sort of musically satisfying sequences that could’ve let us replace this song with almost any of his others. No lyrics necessary for this track to make our list.
5. Yenson – My Feeling (Deniz Koyu Remix)
If you don’t get a warm, fuzzy feeling about 15 seconds in then I think we need to check you for a heart and/or soul. Koyu takes a break from his usual, repetitive build up style to make a simply irresistible synth-focused remix.
