This summer, one of the most influential labels in electronic music today returns with their Block Party, which has gained enormous amounts of traction in just the seven years it has been around and has even spun off into Mad Decent’s very first Boat Party this November. What started in Mad Decent‘s hometown of Philly (and where Diplo spent a good part of his early career years) in a rented tent has grown to be much more than the name would have you believe. This year, the multi-city Block Party is hitting 22 cities, including Boston, Detroit, Denver, Dallas and most likely a city near you. While the lineup is different for every city and party, the collective of artists features the likes of Outkast, Big Gigantic, Fatboy Slim, Flume, Kaytranada, RL Grime, Wave Racer and Wolfgang Gartner – surely making up one of the more diverse lineups for an electronic music festival this summer.
