Vanilla Ace is a name I sincerely hope you’ll be hearing a lot in the coming months and years. Besides having an awesome name that playfully takes away from the classic Vanilla Ice, the London-based producer oozes Deep House, G-House, Future Funk, Nu-Disco, and all things smooth. I really took notice when the people at HARD Presents featured Vanilla Ace as the DJ in charge of their HARD Summer 2014 Mixtape #3 (see below). Every single song on that Vanilla Ace mixtape is either one of his originals or remixes and you can consider it an hour-long showcase of what he can bring to the table as a producer and DJ. Vanilla Ace exploded on to the scene in 2012 with releases for Toolroom, MODA, Blockhead, Maquina and Ministry of Sound. Artists like Treasure Fingers, Kolombo, The Magician, Soul Clap and Seth Troxler have all supported Vanilla Ace’s productions. Now Destructo and the team at HARD have really taken notice, as Vanilla Ace has been added to the Hard Summer 2014 lineup as well as Holy Ship 2015.
Today Vanilla Ace released a brand new remix for free download, in honor of announcing his U.S. tour, dubbed the U.S.Ace Tour 2014. Today’s release goes a bit deeper and darker than I’ve come to expect from Vanilla Ace. Already a dark gorgeous Nu Disco tune from mysterious LA native ZHU, Vanilla Ace ramps up the song’s deep and sexy vibe to, in my opinion, summon producers like Hot Since 82 or Maceo Plex. Though I always yearn for a fantastic new G-House tune, I am certainly not disappointed with Vanilla Ace’s effort on his remix of “Faded”. The great news is you can see Vanilla Ace on his 19-date tour, including stops in San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, and plenty more. Catch the tour flyer after the jump!
