Dirtybird Campout Announces 2017 Lineup!

Dirtybird Campout returns for its third year.

Spearheaded by visionary DJ Claude VonStroke, Dirtybird Records has grown the oddball Dirtybird Campout quickly in its two – soon to be three – year tenure. With the Campout’s expansion, it’s also moving to Bradley, California.

Dirtybird Campout became widely known for not just its musical acts, many of which belong to the Dirtybird label itself, but for its diverse festival experience. The Dirtybird website prominently features its unusual palette of outdoors activities, like sponsored hikes, open row boats, and mini-golf. In 2016, there were even a number of stand-up comedy acts in attendance – and as 2017 rolls around and the festival continues its trajectory of success, it’s a safe bet we can only expect more great entertainment for festival attendees.

2017’s Lineup

Claude VonStroke (the pseudonym of Barclay Macbride Crenshaw) heads up Dirtybird Campout’s 2017 line-up. The American DJ is known for being a creative dynamo. VonStoke not only galvanizes the Dirtybird Campout itself, but also leads several record labels, tours vigorously, and releases polished studio albums regularly. For all this, VonStroke earned the honor of DJ Times Best DJ title.

Also in attendance will be acts like Justin Martin, Eats Everything, J. Phlip, Bleep Bloop, Shiba Shan, Sirius Hood, and many more. Especially given this is only the phase 1 lineup announcement, expect Dirtybird to announce more killer acts in the near future.

Campout DJ Competition – Aspiring Artists, Listen Up

All of this aside, possibly one of the best (and easily most exciting) things the Dirtybird Campout offers is the opportunity for aspiring producers, DJs, and musical artists of all kinds to compete and gain recognition.

It’s this kind of community building that, I suspect, is responsible for Dirtybird’s success to begin with, and the Campout’s DJ competition gives artists a whole new means of expressing themselves to a welcoming community of electronic music lovers.

To participate, artists need to submit a 30 minute mix at this link. In the website’s own words, “It can be anything you feel, just keep in mind the vibe…”
