Last year Europe’s largest winter music festival, Snowbombing, announced they’d be throwing a sister festival in the mountains of Canada to replicate the combination of sound and sport they’d been celebrating for years in the Alps. Canada’s version takes place at Sun Peaks Resort on the West Coast of our friends to the north. The lineup just dropped for 2018’s edition and boy are we in for a treat.
One of the biggest acts in music over the past several years, Odesza, is set to take center stage during this four-day festival. Anyone who saw them on this year’s Fall tour has been talking about the drum lines and production value skyrocketing through the roof. Odesza in the mountains during Spring Skiing is surely not to be missed.
But what else? There’s some excellent diversity represented as part of Snowbombing Canada 2018, ranging from Hip Hop to Electro to House music and everything in between. For a House junky like myself, seeing Gorgon City, Justin Martin, Nora En Pure, Billy Kenny, and Christian Martin gets me real excited. And amazing performers like Big Wild, Goldfish, Troyboi, The Funk Hunters, and Party Favor are surely not to be missed.
At “7,060 feet above ordinary”, the festival offers something for everyone who likes music, snow sports, and the combination of both. The legend of Snowbombing has made its way to North America and after the stellar reviews of 2017’s edition there’s no doubt you’ll need to book your trip now for an epic Spring time adventure.
