Having been born and raised in New York City, I grew up and still love hip-hop and this summer belonged to the members of Kanye’s G.O.O.D Music group. Whether you were at a club, bar, the radio, or even just walking down the street, you would hear “Mercy” or “Clique” blaring out of someone’s car. And with the EDM Trap movement that happened this summer, it was only appropriate that G.O.O.D Music became apart of it. R.L. Grime’s remix of “Mercy” was one of the biggest trap hits of the summer, a song that almost every Dj including during their sets, whether it was at a club or during a live set at a show. R.L’s “Mercy” even began to be played on New York’s infamous hip-hop and r&b station, HOT 97. Even though these following songs are not instant classics like R.L.’s, they are some good takes on different cuts from G.O.O.D Music’s “Cold Summer” albume.
First, we have a trap remix of “Clique” by Dj Slink. This was one of the first and more popular of the “Clique” remixes that were released this fall.

Now, here is another trap remix of “Clique” by Enferno. This remix recently has risen to popularity in the EDM blogosphere. If these two remixes go head to head, who wins the battle?

Finally, we have a remix to the current Kanye street banger, ” I Don’t Like.” This remix by No Big Deal, really does not keep many elements from the original, but is heavy on the electro with a very trap oriented drop midway through the track.

Bonus: When you think of Kanye West its hard not to also think about Jay-Z, and the massive album they did together, Watch the Throne. Here is a remix done by Kito, that was recently dropped by Major Lazer on their latest mix (Check it out here)
