TWO SEV (Jamie MacLeish) is back on MMIBTY again preserving the little life left in moombahton. With every producer scurrying to cash in with trap music it is refreshing to see artists stick to what they know and love. Now this track may not be classic moombahton but it is impossible to ignore some of the distinguishing traits of a now faltering genre such as a brief audio sample of what I have determined to be empty bullet casings clashing to the floor; a popular sample that can be found in just about any moombah song, and the song is registered at 110 BPM.
That being said this track is best described as rugged. This rough raunchy style is something we have not seen from TWO SEV in the past but I like it. I feel this style draws a similarity to producers and DJ Sazon Booya who have combined electro sounds with moombahton rhythm and have engineered a very unique and aggressive sub-class of the popular genre. This follow up track from TWO SEV’s last EP the Trent EP allows us to see that TWO SEV’s songs will not sound exactly the same which keeps me eager to see whats next from this young VT based producer. Be sure to check out the tune below and send some love to his social media outlets, cheers!
