The first time I found out about Louis Futon was about two years ago, when he opened for Odesza at the Bill Graham. The blond haired man put on a set that swept me off my feet, and I had to check out more of his music when I got home. My personal favorite is his rework of Just a Gent’s “Limelight” with vocals by ROZES, who he later reached out to work on an original track with, and about a year ago, “Wasted On You” came out on Odesza’s Foreign Family Collective label.
His newest track, “Surreal feat. RKCB” released a month ago takes on a dreamy atmosphere, the perfect chill vibes mood to a bonfire on the beach or an early Sunday morning, and with RKCB’s vocals guides the single through a melodic, feel good journey. Upon its release, Louis shared on his soundcloud:
“I wanted to create something really fresh and soulful with this one, @rkcbmusic was the perfect fit. We hit it off instantly and shared the same vision for the track. I’m really happy with how it turned out, it’s my favorite song I’ve made to date. <3 ”
2017 is off to a great start for Louis Futon, and now he brings his Spring Tour to major cities around the US – Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles & more – and this weekend (04/22) the Philly producer hits the Bay Area with a show at The Independent, and trust me, you do not want to miss this live set!
