Gotta love it when producers remix their own songs. Moguai’s “Lyme (Moguai’s Crushed Lyme Remix)” came out today on Deadmau5’s label Mau5trap – and it came as the 50th release for said record label. The original mix was found on the full-length album Mpire, which made splashes when Moguai dropped it earlier in the year. The German producer has been riding a wave of success lately, starting when he remixed Fatboy Slim’s “Ya Mama (Push the Tempo)” and every major DJ was playing it in his or her set.
There isn’t a huge difference between the original mix and the remix, except that the remix goes a little bit harder, adding some wobbles into the build-up to the chord progression that acts as the chorus. Personally I like the intro of the original mix better and I like the fact that both versions feature some quick Super Mario Brothers sound effects/melodies. Check them out for yourself and see what floats your boat but don’t forget to pick them up at Beatport.

As a gift to Moguai’s Facebook followers, he released his bootleg mashup of Steve Angello’s “Knas” with Tiga’s “You Gonna Want Me”. Normally I’m not that into mashups, but this one is really unique and I also happen to love “Knas” no matter how many times it’s played. Check it for sure.
