Alex Metric sure has come a long way since his debut Ammunition EP. That EP, originally released for free through his website, featured the now classic track “Rave Weapon”, which was an instant favorite and remains to be for myself and all of the writers here. Since then, Metric has been signed to Skrillex‘s OWSLA, has made a name for himself touring with members of that same crew and has released his Ammunition Pt. 2, which we covered back in December. Showing no signs of stopping the series, Metric today dropped part three, featuring four brand new originals, including a new weapon for the holster in the form of “RW2”. He continues along his tradition of not fitting into any pre-existing category within dance music and puts forth some of his most interesting tracks yet. My early favorite has to be “Want Ya” but all the tracks are quality through and through, and there’s no arguing that the synth line of “RW2” is a crowd-pleaser. Don’t sleep on this and if Metric’s name is new to you, be sure to catch up on his earlier offerings.
